Senex will be operating in the Maranoa region for the longer term through its Western Surat Gas Project. The environmental impact of our operations is an important consideration in delivering gas from the project to market.
A number of baseline studies and site surveys have been completed to identify the current environmental characteristics of the project area and to support future field development.
In December 2017, Senex received environmental approval from the State to develop up to 425 wells with gas and water gathering networks, compression facilities, and water management infrastructure.
Senex expects to receive all remaining State and Commonwealth regulatory approvals for the development of the project by the end of the financial year FY18, including the grant of a Petroleum Lease. Senex is working through environmental approval processes with State and Commonwealth regulatory authorities, and in consultation with key stakeholders including the local community.
