Senex Energy was pleased to become a founding member of the Onshore Petroleum Centre of Excellence (OPCE) in June 2014. This South Australian Government initiative is designed to establish a state-of-the-art training hub at the refurbished TafeSA Tonsley Centre in Adelaide. The OPCE is a joint initiative between Senex, the SA Government, TafeSA, Santos and Beach Energy.

Senex Managing Director and CEO Ian Davies said the training facility was about the future growth of Australia’s onshore oil and gas sector.

“It will provide accreditation for the specialised skills associated with our industry and create a logical entry point for anyone interested in pursuing a career in the petroleum industry,” he said.

The facility provides a full immersive simulated oil and gas production environment, as well as static equipment displays for demonstration and educational purposes.

Senex committed funding for fit out and capital works to the training facility, and ongoing advisory and support services. The OPCE welcomed its first intake in 2015.
