Meet our team

Mr Tong Il Kim was appointed Director of the Senex Board in 2024 and appointed Chairman in 2026. He is Vice President of the Exploration & Production (E&P) Business division for POSCO INTERNATIONAL Corporation based in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Since joining the POSCO INTERNATIONAL Corporation in 2004 as a Senior Geophysicist, he has been involved in various E&P projects for diverse locations and he made notable discoveries including Mya and Maha gas field in Myanmar. Prior to POSCO INTERNATIONAL Corporation, he was a Geophysicist at the Korea Ocean Research and Development Institute where he was involved in environmental studies and geophysical monitoring of the Antarctic Peninsula.

Mr. Dong Youn Kim was appointed Director of the Senex Board in 2025. He is the Senior Vice President of the Corporate Planning Division of POSCO INTERNATIONAL Corporation. Since joining the POSCO INTERNATIONAL Corporation in 1997, he has been responsible for various roles especially in finance such as the CFO of DAEWOO INTERNATIONAL Japan Corp and Head of Treasury Group, Investment Management Group, Corporate Strategy Group and Corporate Planning Division.

Mr Jeong Bin Park was appointed Director of the Senex Board in 2024. He is the Senior Vice President of Corporate Planning Division at POSCO INTERNATIONAL Corporation. Since joining the POSCO group in 2009 and POSCO INTERNATIONAL in 2018 over his 28-year career, he has been responsible for various roles such as Head of Corporate Strategy Group, Head of Corporate Planning Division for POSCO INTERNATIONAL and Head of Infra-Business Management for POSCO Holdings.

Mr Ian Plimer was appointed Director in 2022 and appointed as Chair of the Senex Board in April 2024. He is a director of Hancock Prospecting Pty Ltd and has been a director for numerous ASX-, TSX- and AIM-listed minerals, oil and gas companies. He is an Emeritus Professor of earth sciences at The University of Melbourne having had Chairs at Melbourne, Munich, Newcastle and Adelaide.

Mr Stuart Johnston was appointed Director in 2022. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Hancock Energy Corporation and has over 30 years’ experience in international and Australian natural resources, energy and infrastructure businesses. Prior to Hancock Energy Corporation, he was CEO of Squadron Energy and DBP Transmission, owner and operator of the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline. He was also the Vice President Strategy, Portfolio & Planning with Shell Upstream International in the Hague. He spent 20 years with Shell working in Australia, the Netherlands, the USA, the UK and throughout Asia, involved with pipeline operations, offshore construction, LNG, energy pricing, M&A and business development. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Nottingham and MBA from the London Business School.

Mr Tadeusz Jozef Watroba was appointed Director in 2022. He is the Executive Director of Hancock Prospecting Pty Ltd and has overseen all mining operations for over 20 years in iron ore, manganese, gold, brown and black coal, oil shale, copper, zinc and lead. He has more than 40 years’ experience in mining including mining operations, exploration, project evaluation and development, as well as corporate affairs and investments.
